I wasn’t supposed to have this one.
It was just meant to be a quick coffee and a talk about craft with a friend and they sat us in a position where I could peer into the kitchen and witness the grilltop where literally hundreds of these burgers were being slung. I found myself gazing at the steam, the buns, the cheese. Then the server came up and asked that damn question, “Can I get you anything else?”
I had already eaten lunch.
“Can I get a burger please?”
This burger does not wish to be special. This is by far the simplest burger I’ve had this year. Every element of it is small, but mighty – local suppliers providing top quality ingredients. The beef is Conscious Valley deliciousness. The bun is a soft and buttery Dough Bakery bun. The pickles are the house standards, juicy and sour. So expectedly good. This is what Wellington does best – brings together people to create something charming and honest. An honest burger that cheekily tempting. It’s irresistable.
