I really like a well-thought out burger. Something that tells me that yes, every aspect of design was planned and executed cleanly. From concept to mouthful, the Gimme a Coal nails its brief.

I can only imagine that somebody on the Keihei team picked up a marker and simply wrote on the whiteboard ‘Charcoal BBQ’ before everyone else in the room clapped. The chicken is deliciously seasoned and barbequed with all the smokiness and sweetness that comes with it. The skin is separated and grilled separately to add a purposeful and delightful crunch with every bite. The sauce is sticky and packs just the right amount of spice from its gochujang base. The pickles are spicy and fresh, the perfect accompaniment to a barbequeue meal. The bun is the visual that ties it all together, embodying the charcoal at the core of this burger’s design.

The Gimme a Coal is a perfectly designed burger, and totally worth the trip out to the Hutt for.
