After ten meaty burgers in a row, I’m about overdue for a bit of veggies.
The Pink Panther by Otto Champagneria is a chop suey patty with vegan ham that hits just like the real thing. It’s delightfully colourful and wears its inpisration on its sleeve.
The fake bacon jam is in total control of the flavour. It’s smoky and sweet and the cognac in it adds body and substance. The chop suey patty is a great surprise; crispy without being greasy against the super soft pink bun. The beetroot mayonnaise provides the final element of pink that brings it all together.
As far as vegan options go, I’d as far as saying this is the best one I’ve had over the years. Otto Champagneria has somehow managed to avoid the metallic, iron-y taste and heavy gluten-y texture of other vegan meat substitutes. It’s a really well put together burger that I recommend to even non-vegans looking for something different this Burger Wellington.
