As far as ‘simple’ burgers go, Egmont’s got something really spicy going on over here.

This is the Slow Burn, a burger with great execution on a clean vision: what if cheeseburger but spicy?

The beef is well smashed and crispy, the onions softened just enough to be tasty, but maintain that crunchy bite. The jack cheese is sharp and rich, and the bun is a soft milk bun that doesn’t deflate when you squash it. The hero of the hour is the jalapeƱo pickle relish, which gives this burger its well-deserved name.

This isn’t a burger designed to burn your tastebuds with chilli, not is it satisfied excelling in simplicity. It aims to be a perfect amount of heat for a brunch date, where you’re neither screaming for water, nor gasping for more heat. If you’d like a little extra kick, they’ve provided hot sauce on every table to indulge you, but I never thought it needed it.

It’s a sweet, soft burger that’s just a little spicy.
